Questions
Good to know before you buy.
Plain answers about what the planner does, what it does not do, and how buying, updates and support work.
About the planner
Is this financial advice?
No. Legacy Portfolio Planner is an educational planning and record-keeping tool. It does not provide investment advice, recommendations, portfolio management or financial advisory services. You make your own decisions. For personal advice, speak to a qualified professional such as an SEC-registered investment adviser.
Can it predict stock prices?
No. The planner does not predict prices or returns. Its projections and simulations apply the return and inflation assumptions that you enter, to show how a plan might behave under those assumptions. They are illustrations, not forecasts, and markets behave differently.
Does it recommend investments?
No. The planner never tells you which share or fund to buy, hold or sell. It lists every NGX share and ETF in alphabetical order so you can find what you already own; being on the list is not a recommendation.
Does it use AI?
No. Flags, checks and insights come from fixed, readable rules, such as "a single holding is above the limit you set". The planner does not use artificial intelligence to analyse markets or choose investments.
Can I use it for planning?
Yes. That is its purpose. You set a target in today's money, a timeline, a monthly amount and a target mix, then track progress and review the plan each year.
Records, dividends and legacy
Can I track dividends?
Yes. Log each dividend gross and net of withholding tax, see your income history, and view expected payments on a dividend calendar based on your records.
Can I plan legacy transfers?
The planner helps you keep the records a transfer depends on: a net worth and estate view, a written Investment Policy Statement, scorecard checks for a will, named beneficiaries and insurance, and a backup file you can store with your will. It does not create legal documents. Speak to a lawyer about wills and estate administration.
Which prices update automatically?
Prices for shares and ETFs listed on the NGX are built in and refresh in the app. Mutual funds, offshore funds, bonds and property are priced by you, so you stay in control of those figures.
Where is my data kept?
On your own device. There is no account to create. You can back up your plan to a file and restore it on another device.
Buying and licence
Will it work on Excel?
Yes. An Excel-compatible workbook is included with your licence for people who prefer spreadsheets. The planner app itself runs on Windows and in a web browser, so Excel is not required to use it.
How much does it cost?
See the current purchase page on Selar for the latest pricing. Prices are set and displayed by Selar at checkout.
How do I receive the planner?
After you buy on Selar, your personal licensed copy is e-mailed to you within 24 hours, with an install guide.
Can I share my licence?
No. A licence is for one named person and personal use, and cannot be transferred or resold. Each family member who plans their own money needs their own licence.
Support and updates
How do updates work?
Updates and improvements to the Nigerian Stocks Edition are free for licence holders. When an update is released you are told how to install it. Back up your plan file before updating.
I'm new to investing. Is it for me?
Yes. Start with the free Academy lessons on YouTube, try the web demo, and use the scorecard, which explains each check in plain English.
How do I get help?
E-mail support@legacyportfolioplanner.com or use the support form on the Contact page. Support covers installing, activating and using the planner, not advice on what to invest in.
